Know If You Have Sensitive Skin

I have a very sensitive skin and I believe that the skin is an effective barrier to most things. Some sunbstances can penetrate this barrier and cause irritation. So the thinnner your skin, the less effective it is in keeping out those irritants. Skin actually varries in thickness on different parts of our body. Try to touch it and you will notice that it is thickest on the palms of our hands and the soles of your feet. The thiniest is on our eyelids. Elderly and young children in particular have thinner and more sensitive skin.

An irritating chemicals will cause more immediate irritations on thin or craked skin than on thick skin. If your skin response quickly to irritatiing cosmetic ingredients, if is fair to say that you have a sensitive skin. If you are sensitive to a particular cosmetic, it best to try another brand with significantly different ingredients.
